Deborah Wendolek, of Owings, Md., graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Bowie State University on December 20, 2013. Wendolek was one of 344 students to graduate during the winter 2013 commencement.

For Latin honors, the grade point average (GPA) requirement is 3.50 - 3.64 for cum laude, 3.65 - 3.84 for magna cum laude, and 3.85 - 4.00 for summa cum laude.
